Players Prepare for Pink Out!
The Whalers 3rd annual Pink Out! takes place this Saturday, October 16 at 7pm against the Windsor Spitfires, but the event went to the players' head, literally, on Wednesday when everyone got their hair dyed pink to bring awareness to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Austin Levi received the most votes for best hair as he had a pink ribbon shaved into his head.
Fans can see the new hair up close on Thursday, October 14 from 4:30-7pm when Whalers go from skaters to waiters in a "Tip-A-Whaler" event at CJ's Brewing Company right inside Compuware Arena. All tips from the night will go to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game on Saturday. Proceeds from the ticket sales, Chuck-A-Puck (which will have multiple winners), and jersey auction will also go to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. The jersey auction will take place behind section 110 and will end when the puck drops to start the third period. Fans will also receive the jerseys right off the players' backs that night.

In conjunction with Hockey Fights Cancer Month, the 50/50 proceeds will go to Special Days, which provides a traditional camp experience for children living with cancer and their siblings.
Tickets to the game can be purchased by contacting the box office at 734-453-8400.
