Plymouth and Belleville are both in first place in their respective divisions - the Whalers in West Division of the Western Conference and Belleville in the East Division of the Eastern Conference. The Whalers come into the game as the second highest scoring team in the OHL (119 goals); Belleville has allowed the fewest goals in the OHL (70).
The Bulls start a three-game swing through the West Division Thursday night in Windsor, continuing Friday in Plymouth and then Saturday in Saginaw. They come into the weekend with a six-game winning streak, promptiing Belleville General Manager and Head Coach George Burnett to wonder about loading up with veterans for the second half of the season and the subsequent stretch run:
"We have 12 forwards with everybody healthy and the right number is still 13," Burnett told the Belleville Intelligencer. "The question remains, do we go after a goal-scorer? Is it a playmaker? Whether it's a winger or a centre, there aren't many 19-year-olds in the league this year. And if we do add a player, it'll be one with experience.
"The perfect scenario would be a guy who would play this year and next. We're looking ahead and trying to improve our team now and moving forward."

Belleville's six-game losing streak ended Thursday in Windsor in a 2-1 loss to the Spitfires.
The Whalers come into Friday's game featuring eight players with at least 23 points - Rickard Rakell (16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points), J.T. Miller (11-25=36), Stefan Noesen (8-21=29), Mitchell Heard (15-12=27), Garrett Meurs (13-14=27), Alex Aleardi (16-10=26), Andy Bathgate (10-16=26) and Beau Schmitz (7-16=23).
Rakell comes into the weekend with a career-best 13-game point scoring streak.
Speaking of Meurs (five goals over his last five games), his overtime game-winning goal against Sault Ste. Marie last Friday made the OHL Plays of the Week highlight package as produced by the OHL. You'll have to scroll through the piece towards the end to see.
On Saturday, the Whalers remain at home, hosting Sarnia at 7:05pm at Compuware Arena during Girls Rock Night.
