WHALERS ALUM MATT HACKETT RECALLED BY MINNESOTA: The Minnesota Wild called up goaltender and Whalers alum Matt Hackett on Wednesday to back up Josh Harding. When Hackett had travel problems and looked like he was not going to be able make Minnesota's game on Wednesday against Nashville, the Wild signed 51-year-old beer league goaltender Paul Deutsch (story by the Toronto Star). Deutsch participated in the pre-game warm-up and was ready for duty. Hackett arrived just around the time of the opening faceoff.
