TERRY'S OT WINNER SNAPS WHALERS WINLESS STREAK, KEEPS WINDSOR'S GOING

WINDSOR - Chris Terry's unassisted goal at 1:18 of overtime snapped a 2-2 tie and the Plymouth Whalers came all the way back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Windsor Spitfires, 3-2, in an Ontario Hockey League game played Thursday night at Windsor Arena.

Terry stripped Windsor defenseman Blake Parlett of the puck and beat goaltender Andew Engleage with a shot from in front of the Windsor goal.

Plymouth is now 20-12-2-2; Windsor is now 22-8-5-3.

After Jordan Nolan scored his 10th of the season and Adam Henrique added his 11th in the second period to give Windsor a 2-0 lead, the Whalers mounted a comeback.  AJ Jenks scored his 21st goal of the year on a scramble in front of the Windsor goal at 18:19 of the second period to cut the Windsor lead to 2-1.

Vern Cooper scored a shorthanded goal at 6:21 of the third period to tie the game at 2-2, taking a feed from Joe Gayor from the right wing in the Windsor zone.  Cooper made no mistake with a one-timer from the left wing lip of the crease.

Windsor outshot Plymouth, 38-24, but Matt Hackett played well in goal for Plymouth, stopping 36-of-38 shots.

The Whales resume on the road Friday night in Sault Se. Marie against the Greyhounds before returning home Saturday night against the Guelph Storm.
